For nearly two decades, I’ve used annual reviews as my most powerful tool for gaining perspective, making sense of the past year, and charting a course forward. What started as desperate journaling on a Brazilian beach in 2008 has evolved into a systematic practice that has shaped every major decision in my life—from joining the Peace Corps to starting my business to writing my books.
I’m now writing a book about this practice. Life in Perspective will teach you how to create your own ritual for reflection and renewal, one that helps you see your life clearly, learn from experience, and intentionally shape what comes next. It’s scheduled for release at the end of 2026, and I’m excited to share this methodology that has transformed not just my life, but the lives of over 1,000 people I’ve taught it to.
This is a compilation of all the personal annual reviews I’ve published, as well as other writing I’ve done about my long-term vision and goals. I’ve also included articles I’ve written about how to make such periodic reviews more effective, including annually, mid-year, monthly, and weekly.
